Just in case you have a mean sweet tooth like me…read this

Sisters,
Just in case you have a mean sweet tooth like me…read this.
Here are just some facts to scare you a bit too, so I won’t suffer alone:
  • Sugar ruins your health, suppresses your immune system, decreases emotional stability, speeds up the aging process, increases your risk of getting cancer, heart problems, contributes to diabetes, can lead to osteoporosis, hurt your eyesight, and can cause arthritis. (And that just the top of the iceberg. See a lovely inspiring article athttp://nancyappleton.com/141-reasons-sugar-ruins-your-health/)
  • In 2009, more than 50 percent of all Americans consume one-half pound of sugar PER DAY—translating to a whopping180 pounds of sugar per year!
  • Sugar is loaded into your soft drinks, fruit juices, sports drinks, and hidden in almost all processed foods—from bologna to pretzels to Worcestershire sauce to cheese spread. And now most infant formula has the sugar equivalent of one can of Coca-Cola, so babies are being metabolically poisoned from day one if taking formula.
  • Sugar is contributing to35 million deaths worldwide each year due to obesity and diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
  • Eating fructose is far worse than eating fat. Fructose elevates uric acid, which decreases nitric oxide, raises angiotensin, and causes your smooth muscle cells to contract, thereby raising your blood pressure and potentially damaging your kidneys.
  • Sugar is addictive just as cocaine, nicotine and alcohol. That white, powdery substance just makes you feel good. You can’t get it off your mind, and you keep coming back for more. The more you have it, the more you want it! But even when you try to stay away from it, it finds ways to sneak into your life almost daily.
Ok, enough of horrors…
Here’s how you can tell if you consume too much sugar:
  • You experience sugar cravings or carb cravings
  • Yourenergy spikes and dips throughout the day
  • You feel fatigue, lethargy, depression or anxiety
  • You have brain fog, cloudy thinking, trouble concentrating
  • Your hunger goes from mild to intense very quickly
If any of these statements is true then you need to pay close attention to what you’re eating. Sugar cravings are not easy to control and it seems like the best way to do it is to do asugar detox, so your sugar level would return to normal.
Here are some sites for sugar detox or just google sugar detox:

Shalom!!!
